Largest SIL2 wireless gas detection system in successful operation   20 June 2017

GasSecure can report more than a year of successful operation of its largest wireless gas detection system so far. Delivery of in total 122 GS01 wireless gas detectors started fall 2015 and the project at Statoil Denmark Kalundborg Refinery was implemented in three phases. The main scope was to improve the coverage of gas detection in three process areas as determined by a risk analysis.
The installation is not only remarkable by size; but is also the world’s first full-scale SIL2 capable wireless gas detection system according to the IEC 61508 standard. The safety instrumented system (SIS) links the SIL-certified GS01 gas detector and controller using the readily available open safety protocol, PROFIsafe over PROFINET, to enable safe end-to-end communication between the field devices and the safety controller.

GasSecure and Dräger at Gas Analysis 2017   18 May 2017

GasSecure will be delivering a technical presentation at Gas Analysis 2017 in Rotterdam, NL on Wed 14th June. Our paper with title “MEMS technology for safe, wireless infrared gas detection” will include some of our latest developments to enable infrared gas detection at ultra-low power levels.
The GasSecure GS01 wireless gas detector will be on display on stand 12 at the exhibition of this event. GasSecure & Dräger staff welcome you for application and technical discussions 12 through 15 June.

GasSecure achieves FM approval for its wireless gas detectors   2 May 2017

GasSecure are pleased to announce that their GS01 and GS01-EA wireless hydrocarbon gas detectors have been approved by Factory Mutual (FM) as intrinsically safe device for use in both Class I, Zone 1 and Class I, Division 2 hazardous area.
This important approval for North America adds to the existing European ATEX and international IECEx certificates plus additional regional approvals like for example Inmetro (Brazil) and Kosha (Korea).

The GS01 wireless gas detectors were recently on display at Offshore Technology Conference 2017, Houston TX to support our ongoing launch activities in the North American market.
